About Talk

From its inception as a passionate idea, one key aspect of Talk's vision was the crucial nature of the editorial quality and integrity. Many suggestions were made during those eight months when Talk went from a concept to its very detailed execution. Some of those were: "What's an e-zine? No one will know what that is, so you should just make it a website," "Why don't you make it a blog?," "You should allow anyone in the community to submit articles for considered use," and many more. We respected our future readers enough to believe that, even if they didn't know what an e-zine was, they'd quickly grasp the concept and thoroughly enjoy it. Thankfully we were right. And, while we think the other ideas are great and may work well for others, Talk's founder & publisher, Miriam Nasuti, an ole' Philadelphia news gal, wanted Talk to be a little bit old-fashioned, reminiscent of her days at KYW-TV 3 when the human interest/good news story reigned.

So, in keeping with Talk's editorial vision, she went on a search to find some of Loudoun's finest traditional and creative writers -- and succeeded. With that, Talk is proud to include the efforts of these fine, experienced freelance team members:

Founder

Miriam Nasuti

With 25 years invested in a professional life that started in television journalism and public affairs in Philadelphia, and evolved to community and public relations, advertising, charity work, special event planning from concept through management and fundraising, Talk Loudoun CEO and publisher Miriam Nasuti has called Leesburg (Loudoun County), VA home for the past 15 years.

As an involved member of the local business and charitable community, Nasuti started Domenicon Marketing 12 years ago to assist clients such as Lansdowne on the Potomac under President Leonard ‘Hobie’ Mitchell; Morven Park with its annual Steeplechase under Executive Director Will O’Keefe; the Town of Leesburg's annual Flower & Garden Festival and 4th of July Celebration under Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation Kate Trask; and the Loudoun Summer Music Fest and Project Virginia Cares (which aided those affected by Hurricane Katrina) with Loudoun Foundation President Tracey Parent, among others.

Nasuti brings to the table a strong work ethic, passion, and commitment to success. With a lengthy track record of proven results and experience in numerous arenas, the marketing specialist has combined her background, skills, resourcefulness and attention to detail to launch a necessary fresh approach to communicating the good news of Loudoun County.

Before settling in Loudoun, Nasuti was the public affairs manager for KYW-TV3 in Philadelphia, now a CBS affiliate, where she worked to conceptualize and implement marketing and public affairs campaigns for the station and worked closely with newsroom producers and assignment editors. In her multi-faceted role with the station, she also served as a KYW’s liaison to corporate and non-profit organizations to advise on program exposure, public service announcements, and the administration of outreach programs.

Other Philadelphia career highlights included marketing for a large metropolitan shopping mall, director of marketing for a major 300-attorney law firm, and senior account executive for a sports magazine. Nasuti left Philadelphia in 1993, following her marriage to James Gavan of Fairfax, VA. The couple lived in the Cascades community of Loudoun County until 2000, when they relocated to downtown Leesburg. They have two sons Dominic, age 14, and Connor, age 12, for whom Domenicon Marketing was named.
